The Basics: 'Beginner Level'

Wire links: These are the foundation for most wire-beaded jewelry. Learn how to make the missing link and all your jewelry dreams can come true.
What you need:
2 ft. 24g wire
6 in. 20g wire
10-20 med size beads

Stringing: a simple task but it can be daunting. Let us teach you some 'pro tricks' and you'll be well on your way. Learn how to place the beads so they fall gracefully and crimp the ends for a strong, professional finish.
What you need:
2-3 ft .015 cable
1 strand of beads your choice (accent beads, clasp, crimp beads)

Seed Beads and Needles: did you know 'seed' beads are actually called 'rocailles' or rounds? Be brave and start your 'needle weaving' education with a basics class in peyote stitch, a popular southwest technique also known as 'gourd stitch'. Create flat peyote stitched beads to use in stranding projects or dangle from ear wires. Don't forget your glasses!
What you need:
2-3 colors of #11 delicas (a type of 'seed' bead)
1 pkg. #10 beading needles

Artisan Fine Metal Clay: this is the class you've been asking for and we're so excited to bring this into our class schedule! Create a one of a kind pendant with a personal message or celebrate a special event with this easy to use .99% fine silver artisan clay. Don't miss this fun, 3 hour class. Take your treasure home with you when you leave.

25 grams pmc or art clay

Afternoon Earring Delight: mini-class focused on simple dangle earrings. This 1- ½ hr. session will teach basic earring construction and you can wear them out to dinner when you're done!
What you need:
1 pr. Ear wires,
1 pr. Head pins,
4-6 nice ,mediumor small beads.

Something Unique

Wire Flowers: make two beautiful flowers wrapped in delicate wire and dangle an array of accent beads creating a pair of earrings.
what you need:
2 ft. 24g wire
(12) 4 or 6mm round beads all the same size
6 to 10 accent beads to match your (12) beads

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 14th 6:00-8:00 PM

Floating cable: necklace beads floating in mid air suspended on an almost invisible wire.
what you need:
2 ft of .015 cable
25 1mm crimps
2 colors of seed beads
10 to 15 small beads
small lobster clasp

Lariat Necklace: continuous chain ending in drops of sparkling gemstones.
what you need:
16 to 24 inches of loose link chain
1 special gemstone drop
1 ft of 24g. wire

Layered Vintage Flowers: create a one of a kind pendant using true vintage metal pieces wrapped with wire.
what you need:
Three vintage flowers, various sizes
1 ft of copper wire
round center bead that fits in smallest flower
strand of small beads to compliment center
clasp
2ft .18 cable


Prerequisite: Basic Wire class or instructor approval
Date: Tuesday, Sept 25th 6:00-8:00PM & Tuesday, Dec. 11th 12:00-2:00 PM

Pounded Hoops: using a larger gage wire, hand shape an elegant pair of hoops, dripping with one sparkling gem.
what you need:
1-2 ft of 18 gage wire (get 2ft for bigger earrings)
2 larger (1 in. max) gemstone beads (faceted is best)

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 10th 6:00-8:00PM & Tuesday, Nov. 20th 6:00-8:00 PM

All classes are charged by the hour at $12.50 hr.
Supplies are charged separately, please check supply lists at Ikote.
You can bring your own supplies and tools, please ask for instructor approval.
Deposits are required to sign-up for classes and are nonrefundable.
